Q: What is Miraplacid?
A: Miraplacid is Software Development Company.
Q: What a weird name! What does it mean?
A: It is all Greek for us. No kidding! It means something like "Placid Water" on Greek, but we are not sure. Even Miraplacid guys are not quite sure. But - who cares?
Q: What does exactly Miraplacid doing?
A: Commercial products for sale and custom solutions based on Miraplacid technologies. Products list: Miraplacid Publisher, Miraplacid Text Driver, Miraplacid Form, Miraplacid Screen Capture and Miraplacid Scripting components.
Q: What is Miraplacid Publisher?
A: It is software to convert documents to images or web presentations.
When you install it looks like a printer.
Everything you print to this driver will be converted to images.

Q: What is Miraplacid Text Driver?
A: It extracts text from deocuments.
When you install it looks like a printer.
Documents you print to this driver will be separate to text and graphics.
Text will be saved. Everything else will be disposed.

Q: What is Miraplacid Form?
A: It is software to fill scanned paper forms.
Load scanned form image and add fields.
Then fill just go through the form fields and type text.
"Professional" edition has option to merge form with data exported from database.

Q: What is Miraplacid Screen Capture?
A: Just an extention for the PrintScreen button.
It is the easiest way to save screen copy to image file.

Q: What is Miraplacid Scripting Components?
A: There are currently 5 components for Windows and Linux. In Windows they can be used from ASP code and from stand-alone applications. In Linux they can be called from SunOne (Chili) ASP. Of course, you can try to call them from your stand-alone application in Linux too as soon as you figure out how to use Linux Chili COM interface :) You don't need to know anything about it however to use them with ASP. Just copy your ASP files from Windows IIS to Linux, install Miraplacid Components on the Linux machine and you are done!
